He is a graduate of Agricultural Science from the famous Madras University – South India. He came to Nigeria in 1981 to head a group of Companies (Henly Group of Companies – Agbara) which has established noteworthy Chemical, Engineering and Pharmaceutical Industries.
In 1993, he left the group to establish JAWA INTERNATIONAL LIMITED.
He is a member of many reputable associations and bodies. He is also a council member of Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Nigerian Economic Summit. He has contributed meaningfully to the Industrial Development of Nigeria, particularly in the Pharmaceutical Sector. He is an alumnus of Lagos Business School and Insead – France, and X-LR Management Institute –Jamshedpur- India, Harvard Business School – Boston.
Federal Government of Nigeria recognized the contributions he has made to the industry and society and awarded him the prestigious National Award – MFR (Member of Federal Republic). He holds a position of repute in Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Group (PMGMAN) and Indian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Importers in Nigeria (IPMIN)
He is also an elected member of Parish Council and Synod Member of Lagos Anglican Diocese. He is an executive Member of the Full Gospel Business Men fellowship International.
Mrs. Annie Verghese is an Indian by Nationality, born on 6th October, 1944 in Machilipatanam Andapradash, India. She is married to Chief Varkey Verghese (MFR), the Managing Director, Jawa Group of Companies.
She had her early education in India and in year 1981, she moved to the shore of Nigeria alongside her husband.
She is an Administrator and Management Technocrat. She is a Director and Principal Shareholder in Jawa Group of Companies comprising of JAWA INTERNATIONAL LIMITED, ANNIE PHARMA LIMITED and KATTLE CARE LTD.

He is a Certified Auditor for ISO 9001, Quality Management System (QMS) from CII, India (Confederation of Indian Industries) and also Certified Auditor for 5S – A Japanese Concept
With over 26 years working experience, he has worked in respectable companies in INDIA: Murugappa Group and Saint – Gobain “Palakkad, Kerala State where he rose from the position of a Manager to the position of Deputy General Manager. He joined the services of JAWA INTERNATIONAL LIMITED Eight (8) years ago, bringing on board his wealth of experience.
He has a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and has worked as a superintendent pharmacist in different companies. He has over 25years of experience in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. He is a member of PCN and PSN.
